Giving new parents the best start

At L’OCCITANE Group, we know that family is everything, which is why we take such a strong stance on parental leave. By offering every single employee our Inclusive Global Parental Leave Policy, we support women, promote diversity, and ensure that all new parents have the best possible start to family life.   Implemented in 2021, we became the first international cosmetic group to put in place a broad, large-scale international parental leave policy applicable to all the Group’s employees worldwide throughout our offices, factories, and own retail stores.

Our policy offers a minimum of 20 weeks fully paid leave for primary caregivers and 12 weeks fully paid leave for secondary caregivers – both of which apply to families who are welcoming a child by birth, adoption, or surrogacy. The policy was designed to respond to a variety of needs including supporting gender equality, promoting diversity and inclusion, and improving employee well-being – and in 2023, more than 540 primary caregivers and 90 secondary caregivers benefitted from the initiative.

With this future-facing policy, we hope to contribute to the evolution of parental practices in society and give secondary caregivers the attention and support they deserve.
