L’OCCITANE Foundation Supports Communities in Morocco

At 11pm on September 8th, 2023, Morocco was struck by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake – the most powerful earthquake to hit the region in over a century.  

Sadly, around 2,940 people lost their lives and millions more were severely affected with widespread destruction to livelihoods, homes, and vital public services.  

The L’OCCITANE Foundation, in collaboration with non-profit organisation ACTED, provided direct assistance in the villages most severely affected by the earthquake, by supplying both water aid and essential goods. These were found in the provinces of El Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichaoua.

Our financial contribution came in just over €56,000, and we were able to support around 7,400 people who urgently needed help.    

Certainly, an achievement we can all be proud of.
