OP2B: Celebrating five years of progress in regenerative agriculture

Two farmers operate a red tractor in a vast field of yellow and white wildflowers, with rows of crops stretching into the distance. The field is set against a backdrop of rolling hills and distant mountains under a clear, sunny sky. The scene evokes sustainable and regenerative farming practices, with a focus on nature and biodiversity.

As a member of the One Planet Business for Biodiversity (OP2B) coalition, L’OCCITANE Group is thrilled to mark the five-year anniversary of this transformative initiative.

OP2B is an international cross-sectoral, action-oriented business coalition on biodiversity with a specific focus on agriculture. Since 2019 it has made significant strides in driving regenerative agriculture and protecting biodiversity across the globe.

Today, it celebrates this 5 year milestone today with the release of OP2B Five-Year Report: Demonstrating progress on regenerative agriculture which examines the efforts of the 26 OP2B members.

Highlights include:

$3.6 billion invested in regenerative agriculture between 2019 and 2023

72 programmes launched, involving 300,000 farmers

Healthier soil, reduced input costs, greater biodiversity and increased resilience to extreme climates

3.9 million hectares already transformed, with the goal of impacting 12.5 million hectares of land by 2030

One of the signature collaborative initiatives undertaken by OP2B members is the Climate Fund for Nature, initiated by Kering, supported by the L’OCCITANE Group and managed by Mirova.

The fund, launched in 2022, mobilises resources from the luxury, fashion and beauty sectors to protect and restore nature, with a particular focus on female empowerment.

Together, we are leading the transition from conventional practices to sustainable farming models that restore and give back to nature.
