Joining the fight in Plastics vs Planet

Uniting thousands of partners around the world, the Earth Day movement is a global call for the creativity, innovation, ambition, and bravery we all need to challenge our climate crisis and seize the enormous opportunities of a zero-carbon future. This year, the focus is on Plastics vs Planet, and a call for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics, rapid phase out of all single use plastics, and an urgent push for a strong UN Treaty on plastic pollution.

L’OCCITANE Group is already playing our part, having committed to reducing plastic use and selecting less environmentally impactful materials for our products. We’ve pledged that 100% of our plastic packaging will be recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2026 – and that 100% of our carton packaging will be certified by the FSC® too. And when it comes to our product formulations, we’ve also published our Formulation Charter and Clean Charter, listing environmentally harmful ingredients we’ve banned. For example, no new brand launches since 2020 have used silicone – and by 2025, none of our rinse-off products will, either.

The L’OCCITANE Group will continue to engage in a never-ending search for natural formulas and eco-friendly packaging – because to us, the mission and message of Earth Day lasts far longer than just a day. It stands for a commitment, a movement – and a promise to our planet.
